Day-by-day programme

Day 1
Zanzibar → Arusha → Karatu
Morning hotel pick-up and flight from Zanzibar to Arusha. Meet your driver-guide and drive through the Rift Valley escarpment to Karatu, the coffee-farm town on the crater rim highlands. Afternoon at leisure at the lodge with an optional short village or coffee-plantation walk, then a safari briefing and dinner.

Day 2
Full day in Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the crater at sunrise for a full day on the floor of the world's largest intact caldera. Black rhino on the Lerai plain, big-maned lions, elephant bulls in the fever-tree forest, hippo pools and thousands of flamingo on Lake Magadi. Picnic lunch beside the hippo pool, then climb back out in the late afternoon for dinner on the rim.

Day 3
Lake Manyara → Zanzibar
After breakfast, drop down to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive — groundwater forest with baboon and blue monkey, buffalo on the floodplain, and the park's famous tree-climbing lions. Lunch, then transfer to Arusha airport for the afternoon flight back to Zanzibar and your hotel transfer.
