Day-by-day programme

1. Day 1

   Zanzibar → Arusha

   Flight from Zanzibar to Arusha and transfer to your lodge on the slopes of Mount Meru. Afternoon at leisure, full safari briefing with your guide, kit check and dinner. If you arrive early, an optional walk in the coffee plantations can be arranged.

2. Day 2

   Tarangire National Park

   Depart at 07:00 for Tarangire, famous for ancient baobabs and the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania. Full day of game driving along the Tarangire River where elephant, buffalo, eland and fringe-eared oryx gather, with picnic lunch under the trees. Evening transfer to Karatu.

3. Day 3

   Into the Serengeti

   Cross the Ngorongoro highlands and descend onto the endless plains. Game drive en route, arriving in the area where the herds are currently concentrated — Ndutu and the southern plains from December to March, the western corridor around May, the Mara River in the north from July to October. Late afternoon drive before dark.

4. Day 4

   Full day with the herds

   A full day dedicated to the migration with a picnic lunch so you never leave the action: thousands of wildebeest and zebra on the move, resident lion prides shadowing the columns, and — in season — the drama of a Mara River crossing. Your guide positions the vehicle early and stays patient.

5. Day 5

   Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater rim

   Morning game drive as you exit the park, with time in the Seronera valley for leopard and cheetah. Lunch on the way, then up to the crater rim for sunset views over the caldera and dinner at the lodge.

6. Day 6

   Crater floor → Zanzibar

   Dawn descent into the crater for a half-day game drive with picnic breakfast — rhino, lion, elephant and flamingo in one 260 km² bowl. Ascend before midday, lunch in Karatu, transfer to Arusha airport and fly back to Zanzibar, where our driver meets you for the hotel transfer.
